The Cnwch Wood Nature Trail has been established to illustrate the rich variety of plant and animal life to be found in the ancient oak woodlands of Mid Wales. These steep woods are often difficult to access but the old zig-zag track up through Cnwch is an easy walk in tranquil and beautiful surroundings.
Some steep hills, but suitable for most walkers; along paths and lanes. Suitable for pets. Not suitable for wheelchair users, pushchairs or young children.
From Knighton Clock Tower go down Broad Street and take the Ludlow Road out of Knighton.
This is a very demanding walk and can be dangerous if you are not properly prepared. Take OS map, compass, food and water and allow plenty of time to do the walk. Make sure you inform someone at the visitor’s centre where you intend to be walking and make sure you have a working mobile phone with you. After wet weather it is not advised to undertake this walk as parts are extremely boggy and will be impassible. If you intend on taking your pet with you please ensure that they are fit enough to complete this demanding walk.
